The word doula is a Greek word that means woman’s servant. Women have been serving other women in childbirth for centuries and have proven that this support from another woman has positive effects on the labor process. A Christian Doula is a professional trained in Christ Centered childbirth, who provides emotional, informational, and physical support throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and after. The goal is to help women and their partners have a safe and wonderful birth experience!
A doula attends all different types of births. I will attend home births, birth center births, and hospital births. I also offer a wide range of information on any type of birth you think you want. I have information on the different types of pain relief, from natural to epidurals and anything in between. My beliefs and thoughts about birth are not the same as yours and it is my job to offer information about your choices and support your decisions, without judgment, whatever they might be.
